PRINCETON, NJ-A beautiful afternoon. A new business. A ribbon cutting. No formal apology. After a beautiful ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of a new business, the owner Jan Bailey Issued no formal apology to the owner of the ribbon she had cut with a pair of giant scissors.

"I had no idea I needed to apologize. I honestly don't even know who's ribbon it is." We tried talking to Jan several times-she looked uncomfortable and she tried playing dumb. "Please stop approaching me," she said the third time we asked about the ribbon. "It was just a ribbon. Please let me celebrate with my family." What Jan refused to realize was that was someone's ribbon she was cutting-they could have been using that ribbon for wrapping presents, hair accessories, or even arts and crafts.

We were able to get into contact with the owner of the ribbon, Bailey, who was expecting an apology immediately following the ribbon cutting. "It's hard for me to accept that someone could cut a ribbon like it was nothing in front of hundreds of people and not consider the feelings of the owner of the ribbon."

Our news station has received enough donations to be able to replace the ribbon for Bailey. We've reached out to Jan several times since the ribbon cutting with no response.
